One of the original thoughts I had when I’ve started the Honda Motorcycles blog was that I will be able to build a good database of knowledge about Honda bikes, parts and accessories. I now realize my goals were set too high – that’s not a one man job.
I can however share information that I gather on my journey as a biker. This time I’m prepared to talk about the Honda CB750 Nighthawk or SevenFifty exhaust. The CB750 history goes back to ‘69, but I will focus on the 1991 – 1993 & 1995 – 1999 models – as I have a 93 in my garage. Now, the exhaust is amongst the only things that went completely wrong on the bike, everything else being in a relative good state. As the bike has been discontinued for some years now, it’s a little bit harder to find the right exhaust for it. For Europe, I found the following providers:
- IXIL SILENCERS - part no H1918 RIGHT & H1919 LEFT, only the end canisters, chromed steel – looking very close to the originals.

- Laser exhausts, the Jama Original series, looking good, but they never reply their emails so it’s impossible to buy. (If they will ever read this, I would like to let you know that you lost a sale)

There are a few more suppliers in US and Canada, so if you would like to have something added here, let me know.
PS: Vance and Hines also do a good exhaust, but I’ve contacted them and said they are not producing this part anymore? Strange, because I’ve saw it in a shop. (Maybe because I’m from Romania?)
Motads are a pretty good exhaust. Ian had a 2-1 on the suzuki foe several years before buying a stainless system from powerflow (now called gazelle exhausts). The stainless system lasted for 20 years! before this was changed earlier this year with another stainless system from os stainless.
The motad downpipes are only single skinned and turn blue very quick but as a plus there is generally no need to change carb settings and also oil filters are easily accessable.
